The Production Manager will oversee all aspects of manufacturing, planning, production control and scheduling of paint and assembly operations. Primary responsibility is to enable the organization to perform to its maximum potential in production of quality products for the lowest cost possible in a timely manner.
- Assure adherence to safety rules, policies and procedures and ensure that all operations areas are in compliance with specified safety rules, policies and procedures.
- Monitor quality of work performed to ensure quality standards.
- Coordinate with purchasing and fabrication to ensure efficient flow of materials into and through shop.
- Influence the engineering design to ensure efficient manufacture of products.
- Monitor sales activity in order to plan and schedule work to meet ship dates.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained to support inventory and cost systems.
- Instill in employees the desire to reduce costs and search constantly for better ways to reduce costs by optimizing production.
- Qualifications and Experience
- Three to five years’ experience in production management.
- Preferred candidate would have an extensive background in Fab/Weld and both mechanical/electrical assembly and paint/coating application.
- Experience and background in lean manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure of time and resource constraints.
- Must possess workflow and organizational skills; be self-motivated problem solver; and effectively direct, supervise and motivate assigned employees.
- Strong commitment to quality/safety/efficiency.
- High School Diploma or GED required, bachelor degree preferred.
