Hot Honey Grilled Chicken

Sweet, fiery, and smoky — this Hot Honey Grilled Chicken will headline your next barbecue without much fuss. It’s a 1-2-3 punch with two seasonings that deliver a balance of sugar, chile pepper, and paprika blends. Follow that up with some Mike’s Hot Honey and you have a caramelization of flavor that’s a knockout! INGREDIENTS

  • 2lb Fresh Chicken Breasts
  • R Butts R Smokin' Ozark Heat Rub
  • Plowboys Yardbird Rub
  • Mike's Hot Honey

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Set up your Yoder Smokers YS640S pellet smoker for indirect cooking with the heat diffuser removed and GrillGrate cooking grates in place over the firepot.
2. Preheat your Yoder Smokers YS640S pellet smoker to 250°F.
3. While the smoker is heating up, trim your chicken as desired.
4. Season moderately on all sides with R Butts R Smokin’ Ozark Heat followed by Plowboys Yardbird seasoning.
5. Once the smoker is up to temp,, place the chicken on the upper level cooking shelf
6. Smoke the chicken for about 20 minutes, then head outside with the Mike’s Hot Honey.
7. Crank the temp of the smoker up to 450, open the lid and drizzle the honey over your chicken. Make sure to cover each side.
8. Close the lid and allow the chicken to finish cooking while the honey caramelizes with the dry rubs.
9. Once the chicken reaches an internal temp of 165°F remove from the smoker, lightly drizzle with the honey one more time, then give it a few minutes to tack up.
10. Now it’s time to slice and serve. Simple but so good!
